The "Step Up iN a DigitAl Year!" project represents an opportunity that will bring together 52 participants from Germany, Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey between 11-19 December 2023 in İzmir. The major activity of the project is a youth exchange, which aims to empower young people aged 18–30 from various communities, but especially from disadvantaged backgrounds, to become more engaged in their local community by increasing their digital skills, providing information and assistance about labor market demands and opportunities, and fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. The program's primary objective is to encourage social inclusion, intercultural discussion, and a sense of belonging among young people from various cultural backgrounds.

Sessions and group discussions will represent opportunities for participants to learn from each other and share their experiences and perspectives. Team-building activities will help break the ice and encourage collaboration among participants. Cultural visits will provide valuable insights into different cultures and ways of life. Dissemination sessions are a great way to share what has been learned during the program and to promote the exchange of ideas beyond the participants themselves. And using interactive methods can help keep participants engaged and motivated throughout the program.

The project will incorporate, in particular, activities that will enhance participants' digital skills using digital and entrepreneurial strategies and methods. We intend to highlight the issues that young people are dealing with on a daily basis related to the topic through non-formal education and entrepreneurial methods, and, through brainstorming and group activities, find or even create innovative and effective ideas with the main objective of reducing or even solving specific global issues connected with the process of digitalization. The project will also include outdoor activities that will promote the growth of soft skills like leadership, cooperation, and fortitude.

The overall purpose of the youth exchange program is to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the assistance and guidance they require to overcome the challenges they encounter and grow into more self-assured, capable, and engaged members of their communities. By offering these opportunities, the project will support greater social cohesiveness and the removal of barriers, resulting in social inclusivity.
