The aim of the project is to develop an eye for photographic motifs in everyday life. At the same time, it is about (re)discovering Dortmund through the means of visual expression and understanding it as one's own home. The young people create photos and texts from the first workshops and a book together. Compiling them into a book transfers the digital photos and texts into something permanent, that they can touch, take home and show friends and family.

In the first workshop in the “MySong” series, young people learn to make their own beat for a song build and sing your own song. The content of the workshop is rhythms and melodies and musical traditions from African countries.
The workshop is intended to encourage young people to use a text to engage with their homeland, origins and identity. This will be accompanied and supported with the help of an educational and artistic specialist.
