Plate one

In 2020, the project "L'homMan," was initiated by Megha Kono-Patel in partnership with VKII Ruhrbezirk e.V. as part of the "Somehow Here! Flucht - Migration - Männlichkeiten" framework.

It targeted young men* of color up to 27 years old and featured practical activities like film workshops, football training, and screen printing workshops conducted outdoors.

The project aimed to empower participants, addressing issues of heterogeneity, stereotypes, and the emotional differences between black and white men*.

Its primary goals were to confront racism, address masculinity and representation, and provide a safe space for discussing societal behaviors while strengthening self-confidence.

Whether in-person or virtual due to pandemic measures, the project emphasized the need for dialogue and self-reflection on masculinity. Led by Megha Kono-Patel, it engaged 25 teenagers and young adults.
