Kultur & Medien machen Kunst

The "Kultur & Medien machen Kunst" project, initiated in January 2020 and funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, provided a platform for young people from Nordstadt, aged 8 to 18, to explore digital media and create digital art and media contributions.

Over the course of the project, participants engaged in critical examinations of staged "influencers" and potential role models.

Through their own creative works, which included photography, writing, drawing, and more, the project aimed to strengthen the individual self-image of the participants.

The ultimate goal was to digitally publish these works at the project's conclusion. As part of the project, participants honed their media skills and learned to critically assess social media.

They delved into questions related to self-presentation, the authenticity of YouTube and social media stars, trust in online content, and strategies for responding to negative messages or comments.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the project transitioned to an online format in March 2020, where participants were introduced to digital exchange and communication platforms. They continued to create their own art and media contributions in the digital space. Under the leadership of Mariama S., this initiative facilitated the exploration of digital media, influencers, and creative expression, involving 15 children and 15 teenagers from Nordstadt throughout its duration from January 2020 to December 2020.
