Mit Storytelling zur Selbstermächtigung

Storytelling opens up the possibility of dealing with one's own identity and at the same time understanding lived experiences as important sources for creative writing. By writing about collective experiences, we can become active in formulating our own opinions and solutions to political decision-makers and institutions. The aim of the workshop is to create a space where participants can work creatively on social issues and find their own language to bring about positive change. Every person has a personal story. The story is based on personal experiences in life and is strongly related to one's own identity. Since we all have different experiences, each story is also different and unique. There is no such thing as one story, and certainly not in relation to a group of people. Especially in the case of people with a migration history, as the word suggests, certain identities and stereotypes are often reproduced. This points to the danger of the "single story", which is criticized by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. On April 1st, workshop leader Esther Philipps invites you to try out different forms of expression in order to find a language for your lived experiences in a creative way. There are so many storytelling formats, e.g. Diary, poetry, letter, essay, prayer, speech. As these formats we can use to position ourselves.

Blogger:innen gegen Hate Speech und Rassismus

Many racists blog perfectly in terms of craftsmanship, but perfidious in content. The haters spread hate speech on social networks and poison the social climate. For fear of hate speech, almost half of internet users are less likely to participate in political discussions online. This endangers diversity of opinion and democracy as a whole. We must not leave the internet to the racists! In his blogger workshops, Said Rezek empowers the participants and shows them with practical examples, exercises and solutions how to • Produce blog posts against racism and for a diverse society, • increase reach on social networks, • create special forms of posts for social networks, such as open letters, listicles, tweets and memes, • use the craft of blogging professionally, for example topic or image search and, last but not least, research, • Protect yourself from the risks on social networks, including hate speech, filter bubbles, fake news and invasion of privacy.
